Every wednesday and saturday there is an outdoor market here in Leiden. This is something I definitely will be taking advantage of! What’s better than fresh food, locally grown, from an outdoor market place. Here, one can find lots of different types of cheese, meat, vegetables, fruit, spices, candy – you name it! There is also lots of jewelry and clothes :) So today after breakfast I went to check out the market. I bought some carrots, cucumbers, strawberries and oranges, all for just 4 euros.
Here are some pictures of the market:
Fresh mint! Which means there will definitely be some mojito making :)
I also strolled around the city a bit more today. There are so many cute little streets, shops and restaurants here. Throughout the whole city there are canals which also means there’s lots of bridges, boats and floating restaurants and bars.
The land of bicycles!
With all the nice shops they have here I just had to buy something ;) I needed a jewelry hanger anyways!
Tonight I am going to make dinner with some of the food that I bought at the market and enjoy a glass of red wine. Tomorrow morning university orientation starts and the schedule runs from 9:30 to 18:00 so it will be a busy day. Later!
